Disney Cruise Line Disney Dream Cruise Review

The Dream is the newest ship in the Disney cadre, christened early in 2011, weighing in at a hefty 128,000 tons. According to the introduction book in the cabins, the ship's anchor alone is as heavy as two T-Rex dinosaurs or three elephants; standard weight measurements in the Disney world. Of the four cruisers in the Disney line, the Dream is the biggest, 40% larger than the Magic and the Wonder, with 1900 more beds and two extra decks. The Dream is beautifully designed in the Art Deco tradition with a hefty dose of Disney culture mixed in. Mostly, the ship is a children's area with a few exceptions, like the Remy and Palo restaurants, the Meridian, and the bars in The District. There is a full blown movie theater aboard, showing the latest Disney features in 3D, as well as some more adult films that come with an R rating. The huge LCD screen poolside on deck 11 also plays movies day and night. The AquaDuck, the first water coaster at sea, is great fun and should not be missed. In the Disney cruising tradition, there are some spectacular theme nights like Pirate Night. A dinner fit for a pirate is served at Cabanas restuarant topside. Captain Jack Sparrow and his crew are sure to make an appearance, with a fireworks display that you can only see on Disney ships. If you have kids that still believe in Disney magic, cruising on the Dream will make for a fabulous family vacation.
