The Ruby Princess places an emphasis on spacious outdoor areas. There are two large outdoor pools, with two hot tubs apiece. There is also a large sun deck, with “Movies Under the Stars” events, showing a selection of films in the outdoor theater when weather allows. There is also a promenade, as well as a few other outdoor areas scattered on other decks.
There are three pool areas: Calypso, Neptune and Terrace, all three are on the Lido deck. Calypso and Neptune are for everybody, Neptune being the more quiet space. Calypso is also the place to watch “Movies Under the Stars,” which extends to the upper decks too. These pools are separated by the midships elevator. If you get hungry, there is a grill, a pizza place, an ice cream bar and entrances to the Horizon buffet.
The Terrace Pool is a smaller area for adults on deck 8 aft. You can get to it either through Café Caribe or by walking through the corridor on deck 8. The Sanctuary is the other adults only area that has a small spa pool within its no-kids-allowed borders. There is a $20 per day charge for entering The Sanctuary, the fee includes some food and drinks, though not all food or drinks are free; very confusing.
On the Lido deck (deck 15), there is quite a bit of outdoor seating situated between Horizon Court and the Horizon Terrace, where guests can take in views on either side of the Ruby Princess.
