All the pools were located on Deck 9, but there were plenty of other places for sunning or enjoying the open air.

We found three medium sized pools on Carnival Spirit, two at mid-ship and one aft in the adults-only Serenity Retreat. We initially thought these might not be enough for a ship of this size, but only at peak times did they fill with people. During the mornings and late afternoons there was often only one or two people in the pools.
Next to each of the pools was a fresh-water shower, plus one of the ship’s whirlpools—these were usually full of cruisers. A fourth whirlpool was found inside the gym. It was larger, and seemed to be either empty or full of people throughout the cruise.
