The Carnival Freedom is significantly larger than the Celebrity Summit and definitely more bustling. It offers more deck-top pool and activity areas and more interior bars and lounges, and in general is a livelier vessel that also draws a more spirited and somewhat younger crowd (including lots of families).
With a classier decor and a focus on quality of food, enrichment programs, spa services and relaxation, the Summit may be the better bet for vacationers looking for a quieter, more upscale experience. Sailing regularly out of New York to Bermuda during warmer months, the Summit is ideal for the metropolitan go-getter that need a reprieve from the bustle of the city. The flipside: Kids likely will be bored on the Summit in comparision to on the Carnival Freedom, which has a far more diverse array of children’s programs and kid-friendly amenities such as a water slide and soft serve ice cream stations.
Larger and livelier than the Summit, the Carnival Freedom is likely the better choice for vacationers looking for a more active, casual and fun-focused getaway.
